The Golf GTI is available in three models, the S, the SE and the four-door Autobahn. Additionally, there are more feature packs to let you customize your car.
Performance features on the Golf GTI
All models come standard with 2.0 L TSI, 16-valve, DOHC, turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with intercooler and FSI direct fuel injection, 210 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque.
The Performance Package increases power to 220 HP, adds larger brakes and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential with torque sensing.
SE and Autobahn models with the Performance Package also offer the dynamic tampering system called Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC).
A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while an automatic with Tiptronic, sport mode and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters is an available option on all three models.
Golf GTI put to the test
The Golf GTI recently won the “Cheap Speed Challenge” sponsored by Cars.com, a competition available for compact hatchbacks, coupes and sedans that cost less than R$100,000 and have performance features.
Experts from Cars.com, MotorWeek, USA Today and a real performance car buyer evaluated eight candidates in a series of tests conducted on a closed track and various roads to simulate driving real.

- Round-robin driving for street driving, so each expert can evaluate all cars in the test group consecutively

The GTI outperformed most cars by just What’s more, unlike some of Cheap Speed’s other competitors, the GTI offers an impressively spacious, high-quality interior and is a lot of fun to drive.”
